How a Surat embroidery house taught us to put gold thread on fleece.
Zari is traditionally woven into silk for weddings. We asked a third-generation workshop in Surat whether it could survive a hoodie.
The answer was a reinforced yoke, a tighter stitch density and a thread with a polyester core — tradition rebuilt for 400 GSM fleece and a washing machine.
The Zari Nocturne Hood is the result: Indian craft at street scale.
